About our homes
We provide recuperative care (also called medical respite) after a hospital or facility stay, short-term post-hospitalization housing, sober living, and long-term rooms for rent. Through Medi-Cal health plans we also help residents with housing navigation, move-in deposits, and ongoing support to stay housed.
Recuperative care, also called medical respite, is short-term housing with support for people who are ready to leave a hospital or other facility but do not have a safe place to recover. Residents get a furnished room, meals, utilities, and staff who coordinate with their care team. It is covered by participating Medi-Cal managed care plans.
You may qualify if all three are true: you have Medi-Cal through one of our partner health plans, you are leaving a hospital or another facility or your care team says you need a safe place to recover, and you do not have a stable place to stay. Your health plan makes the final decision, and we help you and your care team through that process.
Our homes are all-inclusive: a furnished bedroom, utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry, and staffed common areas. Recovery stays include meals. Everything needed to settle in on day one.
Yes. Every Anchor home is a drug and alcohol free environment with clear house rules and staff support.
Adults recovering after a discharge, veterans, people rejoining the community after incarceration, single parents with children, and adults in recovery. Each home serves a specific group, so housemates share similar needs and schedules.
Getting a bed
Two ways. If you are a Medi-Cal member leaving a hospital or other facility, your case manager, discharge planner, or health plan can refer you, or call us and we will work with your plan. If you are looking for a sober living bed or a room for rent, reserve a bed online or call 1-855-597-3316.
No. Recovery stays are covered through participating Medi-Cal health plans. Sober living and rooms for rent are open to everyone, including private-pay residents. You can reserve a bed online or call us.
Recuperative care and short-term post-hospitalization stays are covered by participating Medi-Cal managed care plans at no cost to the member. For sober living and rooms for rent, call us for current pricing and availability.
For referral partners

We are contracted with Medi-Cal managed care plans across California, including Kaiser Permanente, Anthem Blue Cross Partnership Plan, Partnership HealthPlan of California, Molina Healthcare of California, L.A. Care Health Plan, Mountain Valley Health Plan, Health Plan of San Joaquin, and Contra Costa Health Plan.
We screen every referral within 4 business hours, then coordinate move-in based on the health plan authorization and bed availability.
